OnlyFans Agency for Beginners: An Honest Guide for New Creators

You do not need experience to work with an agency, but you do need to know what you are signing up for. Here is what an agency actually does for a new creator, what stays your job, and how to start without giving away control.

Most "beginner" guides fall into two camps. Some tell you to wait months before talking to any agency. Others promise that an agency will do everything for you. Neither is quite right.

The honest version: an agency cannot create your personality, your content or your consistency. What it can do is handle the parts that new creators usually struggle with most, like getting traffic, answering fans around the clock and reading the numbers. Whether that is worth it for you depends on the terms, and on whether you are ready to show up.

First things first: the basics before any agency

  • You must be at least 18. OnlyFans requires creators to be at least 18 years old and to verify their identity. No legitimate agency will work with anyone younger, and neither do we.
  • The account should be yours. Your email, your ID verification, your bank account for payouts. This does not change when an agency joins.
  • OnlyFans keeps 20%. Under its terms of service, the platform deducts a fee of 20% from each fan payment. What is left are your creator earnings.

What an agency actually does for a new creator

The services vary a lot between agencies, so ask for a clear list. A full-service agency typically covers these areas:

AreaWhat it means in practiceWhy it matters for beginners
StrategyPositioning, pricing, which content goes whereAvoids the most common early mistakes
ReachInstagram, TikTok and Reels strategy to bring visitors to your pageNew accounts get almost no traffic on their own
ChattingA team that answers fan messages, often 24/7Messages are where much of the income happens
Content planWhat to shoot, how much, and when to postTurns "what should I post?" into a weekly routine
ReportingRegular numbers on what is workingYou learn the business instead of guessing

To give you a sense of how much messages can matter: one Vierra creator earned $10,882 in April 2026, and only $334 of that came from subscriptions. The rest came from messages, pay-per-view content and tips. That is a single case, not an average, but it shows why chatting is often the core of the work.

What stays your job

An agency is infrastructure. You are still the brand. In practice that means:

  • Creating content regularly, following the plan you agree on.
  • Short-form videos for social media, because reach is what brings new fans.
  • Setting your boundaries clearly, in writing, and keeping them.
  • Checking your numbers in your own OnlyFans dashboard, not only in reports.

How much time this takes depends on your goals. At Vierra, our top creators work around 2 to 3 hours a day. Anyone who tells you it takes no time at all is selling something.

Do agencies even take beginners?

This is where the competing advice comes from. Some agencies publicly recommend that new creators build up a few months of experience and some revenue first. Others note that many agencies say they accept beginners but then ask them to come back once they have an audience.

Both views have a point: an agency multiplies what you bring. But "no audience yet" is not the same as "nothing to bring." What agencies look for in beginners is usually:

  • Willingness to show your face (more on that below).
  • Consistency: you deliver content on schedule.
  • Coachability: you try the plan before you decide it does not work.
  • Realistic expectations about the first months.

Vierra does not require prior experience. What we look at is whether the basics above are there.

Example from our own work: one creator went from $241 in January 2026 to $5,338 in February 2026. That is an individual case, not an average, and not a promise. Many accounts grow more slowly.

Why showing your face matters

We get this question a lot, so here is the plain answer. Vierra only works with creators who show their face. Not because of a rule for its own sake, but because of how the business works: without a face there is little reach, without reach few fans, and without fans no income.

We do not promise anonymity, and you should be careful with anyone who does. What is possible is limiting who can see your page. OnlyFans lets you block specific countries or regions, and we set that up for creators who do not want family or an employer in a certain area to find them. It reduces the risk. It does not make you invisible.

Five beginner mistakes that cost the most

  1. Signing the first offer from a DM. Compare at least two or three agencies. Our checklist for spotting OnlyFans agency scams helps you sort them quickly.
  2. Letting someone else set up the account under their email. Always set it up with your own email and keep two-factor authentication on your own phone.
  3. Paying upfront. Many agencies work on revenue share with no costs before you earn. Upfront fees shift all the risk to you.
  4. Ignoring the commission base. A percentage on gross earnings costs more than the same percentage on net earnings. See how OnlyFans agency pricing works for a worked example.
  5. Not planning for taxes. More on that below.

Questions to ask in the first call

  • What exactly do you do, and what do you expect from me each week?
  • Who will chat with my fans, and how do you brief them on my boundaries?
  • Whose email is on the account, and who holds the two-factor authentication?
  • Where do payouts go? (The right answer: directly from OnlyFans to you.)
  • How do you get paid, and is there anything I pay before I earn?
  • How long is the contract, and how do I leave?
  • What will the reporting look like, and how often?
  • Can you show anonymized results from creators who started where I am? Our guide on checking OnlyFans agency reviews explains what good proof looks like.

US tax basics for new creators

OnlyFans income in the US is generally treated as self-employment income. A few points from the IRS to know early:

  • Self-employment tax. The IRS lists the self-employment tax rate as 15.3% (12.4% Social Security, 2.9% Medicare). You generally have to file Schedule SE if your net earnings from self-employment are $400 or more.
  • Form 1099-NEC. This form reports nonemployee compensation. Under the current IRS instructions, the reporting threshold is $2,000 for tax years beginning after 2025. You owe tax on your income whether or not you receive a form.
  • Form 1099-K. Payment apps and online marketplaces must send one if payments total over $20,000 in more than 200 transactions, and may send one for lower amounts.
  • Estimated taxes. Because nobody withholds tax for you, you may need to make quarterly estimated payments using Form 1040-ES, or face a penalty.

This is general information, not tax advice. Talk to a CPA or enrolled agent about your situation, ideally before your first big month.

FAQ

Do OnlyFans agencies work with beginners?

Some do and some do not. Several agencies say they prefer creators who already have an audience or some revenue, while others take on creators with no experience. Ask directly in the first conversation, and ask what they expect from you in the first 90 days.

Should I start OnlyFans alone or with an agency?

Starting alone costs nothing extra and teaches you the platform, but growth without reach is slow. An agency makes sense when it brings things you cannot easily do yourself, like a traffic strategy and full-time chatting, and when the terms leave you in control of your account and money.

How many hours a day does OnlyFans take with an agency?

It depends on the agency and on your goals. At Vierra, top creators work around 2 to 3 hours a day, mostly creating content, while the team handles strategy, reach, chatting and reporting. Be wary of anyone who says it takes no time at all.

Can I do OnlyFans without showing my face?

You can, but it makes building reach much harder, which is why some agencies, Vierra included, only work with creators who show their face. If privacy toward family or an employer is the concern, OnlyFans lets you block specific countries or regions, which reduces but does not eliminate the chance of being seen.

Do I have to pay taxes on OnlyFans income in the US?

Yes. OnlyFans income is generally self-employment income, which means income tax plus self-employment tax of 15.3% according to the IRS. This is not tax advice, so talk to a tax professional about your situation.

You are the brand. We are the infrastructure.

Strategy, reach and round-the-clock chatting, so you can focus on your content.
